6 Years Old, Books and Practice

The kids had spring break this week.  Sister Bear had her 6th birthday.  She's growing up too fast.  We had a bowling party.  Five kindergarten girls plus Sister spent a few hours at the bowling alley.  Papa Bear, Gramma and Granddad, Brother and one of his friends got in on the bowling as well.  After bowling we had cupcakes and ice cream and opened presents.  Later that afternoon when Sister was playing basketball she said her arm hurt.  It was sore from bowling.  On her actual birthday we went and had lunch with Papa and the grandparents because we couldn't do a family dinner due to baseball practice.

We used to have a Borders Bookstore about 5 minutes away.   It was a sad day for us when they closed.  Both kids love love to read.  There is a Barnes and Noble but it takes about 30 minutes to get there.  So it's not that convenient to just head over to the bookstore for a quick browse.  We had to go out and pick up baseball uniforms so on the way we stopped at Barnes and Noble.  Sister had some birthday money that she wanted to spend on books.  She was so happy to buy some more Junie B. Jones books.

Yesterday we went to the YMCA for a few hours.  Brother played basketball and swam with a friend while Sister and I spent the whole time in the pool.  A baseball scrimmage and soccer practice were on the agenda for Brother.  We let his soccer coach know that he wouldn't be at practice because of baseball.  They switched one of the nights of practice to Thursday, which was a baseball night.  Turned out baseball got rained out because of the field conditions so he ended up at soccer practice.
