Spring 2013

Its been basically 6 months since my last entry.  I promised myself I would do better at blogging.  I don't journal or scrapbook so Ive always thought this would be a nice little memento to print out one day.
So.....since September we Bears have just been plugging away.  Both kids played soccer in the fall.  Brother Bears season went until the middle of December.  Thanksgiving was in there at some point and time.  We were able to spend the holiday all together which was nice.  Alot of times Papa Bear has to travel for work over turkey day.  Brother got sick after the big meal which was a bummer for him.  He didn't have a fun break and had to miss some school too.
December was busy with all of the usual holiday celebrations.  This year my gramma came out to spend the holidays with us.  She stayed with my parents for a week. I was glad the kids could spend time with their great gramma.  We had a day of light snow that caused a two hour late start for school because of the ice.
January we officially became the parents of a teenager.  Gasp.  Hard to believe that he is that old.  For his actual birthday I picked him up early from school and we went down to Oregon with Papa Bear.  He had to be down there with the basketball team.  After the game we had a big cake for Brother back at the hotel.  The next day we went to the Nike Employee Store and Brother did a little birthday shopping.  The following weekend we had Brothers party over at the university.  He had 9 friends and they played floor hockey, wiffle ball, basketball and flag football.  They even played a little dodge ball with a few of the college kids.
February we went to California for a party for Grandpa.  It was the first time that all of the cousins were together.  Granny and Grandpa had a crowded house.  Sister Bear had a valentine program at school for the kindergarten classes.  It was very cute. Soccer and baseball started up for Brother this month.  Sister got signed up for swim lessons.  She's always been a little unsure of the water.
And that leads us up to where we are now.....March.   Brother is having a great spring soccer season.  He's scored 7 goals in 8 games.  Sister is doing great in swim lessons.  The instructor said she is very ready to move to the next level.  And Both kids are doing great in school!  Sister is quite the reader.  She is going to be done with first grade reading before she even gets to first grade.  Brother is getting A's in all of his classes, including 3 honors classes.
So there we go, a brief 6 month summary of what we've been up to here in the Bear Household.
